The Nova Festival and Car Museum Near Gaza are a Memorial of October 7th

We visited the location of the Nova Festival, near Gaza, with Aharon to see the pictures and read the stories of the victims of the October 7th Hamas invasion. It was chilling. We also visited the car museum where charred cars were stacked on top of each other all around the perimeter of the museum. They were burned by Hamas and stand today as a memorial. Many cars that were not charred remain with bullet holes in them. Photos of the owners and friends were posted with their life stories and what happened to them on that horrifying day.

As you enter the site of the Nova Festival memorial, the sign reads: “On the morning of Simchat Torah, October 7, 2023, thousands of terrorists came from the Gaza Strip and attacked the settlements of the western Negev in a barbaric and cruel attack. The terrorists also came to the “Nova” festival that was held here in Re’im park in the Be’eri forest. They murdered hundreds of the party participants and kidnapped dozens of them. Immediately after the massacre, the families of the murdered began to commemorate their loved ones here, each family in its own way. Shocked citizens and artists added their own exhibitions to the complex.” The Jewish National Fund developed an appropriate infrastructure for a worthy, respectful and publicly accessible memorial site, while integrating the personal commemorations that had already been placed there.

The sign quoted: “Earth, do not cover my blood; may my cry never be laid to rest.” (Job 16:18).

After visiting these two sites, we were encouraged by visiting the Roaring Lion statue in Nir Oz. To view that video, click here.
